My early work began rooted in traditional botanical illustration and watercolor. Today, I continue to be interested in and investigate plants and natural materials as protagonists with histories, lives, and agency. My process is driven by immersion in and interaction with the natural world in order to interrogate my notion that everything is interconnected.  I am interested in exploring biology, botany, geology within natural ecosystems that I feel connected to through displacement. These intentional interactions with the natural world allow me to observe the agency found in all living things as well as to examine my bifurcated relationship to indigeneity via nature and memory.
