Art Tooth Artists in Business Grant 2022

In June 2022, I was awarded a grant via Art Tooth and the North Texas Community Foundation to work with a locally-owned business in the Northside of Fort Worth, Casa Azul Coffee, to create a permanent bespoke artwork installation for their space. The following is documentation of the conceptual process, fabrication, and installation of this work which is a mixed media piece consisting of handmade ceramics, digital collage, painting, and poetry, all directly inspired by my Mexican roots as well as Frida Kahlo’s home, the original Casa Azul, in Coyoacan, Mexico City, Mexico. The artwork was installed in November 2022.
